Matching Similar Triangles
This activity involves students using their prior knowledge of triangle congruence, such as SAS congruence, AAS congruence, and AAA congruence, to solve for missing values on the triangles in the cards that they are given (a sample of some of these cards is given below). They will use the information on the cards as well as the missing information they found in the activity to match the triangles that are similar (requiring them to recall the properties of triangle congruence). This activity will help students connect past properties of triangles that they have already learned with the new properties of similar triangles that they are learning in the current unit.
I chose this activity because it involves many different parts that draw on prior knowledge as well as help build on what was learned in the current unit. This informational activity requires students to bring together all they have learned about triangles in the past and make connections with what is being learned currently. This is also a great hands-on activity that can be used in small groups within the classroom.

Learning Targets:
- I can recall how to use properties of triangle congruence such as AAA, SAS, and SSS congruence
- I can use those congruence properties to help me find missing side lengths and angle measures
- I can tell which triangles are similar by using the properties of similar triangles
