Similar Triangles Review Jeopardy
This activity involves the whole class playing a review Jeopardy game that has been pre-made. This review game not only reviews similar triangles but also reviews other important mathematical information that has been previously learned, such as ratios and cross-multiplication (which are used to find missing side lengths in similar triangles). This activity would serve as a great activity to do at the end of a lesson because it really sums up everything that was previously learned in lessons before the current one as well as in the current lesson.
I chose this activity because, let's be honest, who doesn't love Jeopardy! Jeopardy is a great way to review what has been taught in the current lesson and prepare students for the test they are about to take. This Jeopardy game has been creatively designed to make sure students have a complete understanding of similar triangles as well as previous content that has been built on in the current lesson. Learning Targets:
- I can recall the properties of similar triangles to help me decide if two triangles are similar or not
- I can find missing information in similar triangles by setting up ratios and cross-multiplying
- I can use information such as scale factors to find missing side lengths in similar triangles
