About Me
Hello and welcome to my personal education website. My name is Tony Snyder and I am currently in the final steps of my collegiate career in the College of Education at Grand Valley State University. I am a mathematics major with a secondary education emphasis along with a psychology minor. During the first semester of my field placements, the teacher assisting semester, I was placed at CA Frost Environmental Science Academy in a 7th/8th Grade Mathematics classroom. For me, teacher assisting was a time to really learn the fundamentals of what it takes to become a secondary education teacher. My student teaching placement in the fall of 2014 was at Kent Innovation High School. I taught in a 9th and 11th grade classroom which featured one-to-one technology and was taught in a project-based learning format. Through hands-on interaction with students in the classroom as well as foundational learning taught in College of Education classes, I have developed the skills necessary to teach, learn, and lead in a democratic society. In this website you will find a variety of professionally developed items from different classes. Here you will find my College of Education Portfolios from EDI 331 (teacher assisting) and EDI 431 (student teaching), my mathematics portfolio, a technology-infused lesson plan, a thoughtfully-developed multigenre project, and information on the Tanzania Study Abroad program I participated in. Please, feel free to explore!
